I know, normally these are called new year "resolutions." I don't know about you, but I've found that those don't always pan out. In fact, by this part of January, many of these have been dropped or are soon-to-be-dropped. Which is why I'd rather think of mine as "goals." Goals that aren't anything completely new and exciting or that take drastic changes to implement. Just things that, as I look at where I am and where I'd like to be at the end of this year, I've decided to write out to give me a visual idea of what I'd like to work on. Not that there's anything wrong with resolutions. Just that my mind works better with goals. ;) As I looked back at 2022 and ahead at this next year, I decided on these few things to be my list of what I'd like to make progress on. I hope you'll find reading through my list interesting and even encouraging and that you'll hop down to the comments and share yours with all of us.
This can seem like a bad thing, but if I think about God before I go to bed, it works in my favor. If I can read a few verses before bed and meditate on them as I go to sleep, I tend to wake up thinking about God, and then that more easily consumes my thoughts. And when God is on the forefront of my mind, I tend to automatically focus on the important areas of responsibility because He is directing my mind. And that's something that I want to focus more on letting Him do this year. Do you prefer to think of your new year ideas as goals or resolutions? Do you have any for this year?

That was such a good reminder about what you think about before going to sleep! Thank you for sharing that, Sophia!! I am working on morning and evening routines this year and have quite a few writing goals as well. I'm also trying to write down my goals quarter by quarter instead of for the whole year, which can get overwhelming. I'm learning that I sometimes get more done when I set my goals smaller!

Yes, I remember reading about you making morning and evening routines for yourself over on your blog! And the quarterly goals over the yearly goals sound like a really good idea. I can see how those smaller goals would end up making you more productive, not being swamped by to-dos. :D Thanks for commenting!

Oh, fun! I only started maybe two years ago. It's pretty fun to have some sort of written-out list of ideas though. It puts things into perspective! :D
